OUR SERVICES

DESIGN CONSULTATION

Sit down with Heather and share your vision of your portraits. In order for her to create the perfect portraits for you, she wants to learn about your family and why you want to hold on to this time. These portraits are important, and she wants to discover how she can capture the emotion and story of this season. You will be inspired by the wonderful decor and portraits adorning the walls in the gallery, and she will guide you through the smallest details and help you maneuver the bigger ones. Clothing selections and hair, your home interiors and the wall in which it will live will all be discussed. Designing the look and feel of your portraits before your sitting will ensure everything will go smoothly and the end result will be a treasured family heirloom.

PORTRAIT SITTINGS

In the Studio

Heather conducts camera studies at her studio on historic Campus Corner in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The studio features a collection of elegant antique furniture as well as more transitional pieces from which you may select to include in your portrait. All of her backdrops are hand painted and selected specifically to complement your skin tones and clothing.

On Location

Heather is happy to create your portraits at a special location of your choice. Many clients choose to have their portraits photographed at their home or their favorite home away from home. Environmental portraits that are created at a location holding special memories to your family become even more cherished over time as the location is part of your story.

SELECTION

You will have the opportunity to determine which photograph(s) best reflect the likeness of the subjects, selecting the images that capture the perfect emotion, pose, expression, and story of your season. Heather offers paintings as well as fine art photographic finishes. She will work with you to determine the perfect composition, size and finish of your portrait.

FINISHING

Once your portraits have been created, there are several options for how you may choose to display your portrait art.

Mixed-Media Painting

Using the camera, computer, pigment ink, acrylics, oils, brushes and canvas, Heather masterfully blends the techniques of the Old Masters with today’s resources to create an exceptional style of painted portraits. This style of fine art portraiture captures the exact likeness of family members so that the legacy of family and stories of the subjects can be passed on for future generations.

Museum Fibre

Museum Fibre portraits are painted pieces without the brushed embellishments, and have the inks directly inlayed onto fine art fibre paper. The texture and depth of these cotton rag archival papers inside a double mat are a stunning option for those wanting more of a contemporary art piece.

Photographic Canvas

Our fine photographic canvas wall portraits are created unlike most others. The resin layer is stripped from the back of the photographic print to expose the paper fibers and the photographic emulsion is embedded with heat and pressure to the canvas. The result is a stunning photographic canvas portrait, mounted on stretcher bars, finished with lacquer, and featuring a beautiful canvas texture.

Fine Art Giclee'

Our fine art giclee' portraits are fine-tuned to enhance clarity, depth and skin tones before being printed directly onto either a finely weaved canvas or a fine art archival paper and float mounted within a double mat. The finished wall portrait has a beautiful tonal range and very deep blacks, perfectly highlighting the faces and relationships.

Legacy Album

Many clients find that they love so many of the portraits Heather has created but cannot put them all on their walls. A leather-bound Legacy Album of these treasured portraits is a great place to preserve all of the expressions and poses that finish telling the family’s story.

FRAMING

Your portrait isn’t truly finished until it has a frame that complements it’s colors and tones. Heather offers many different styles of frames for you to select from to enhance your portrait. She will happily assist you in selecting the design, shape, width and color of your frame. The design is then sent along to our Master Craftsman who hand makes your frame, incorporating surface, finish, undercoats and leafing to enhance and complement your portrait. This process requires great skill and concentration and is truly an art form. The combination of hand carving, gilding, spattering, stippling, glazing, pickling and tarnishing creates a striking depth and beauty to each and every frame. Once completed, you will have an absolutely perfect frame that complements your home and enhances your portrait.

INSTALLATION

In nearly every case, when a portrait is framed by Heather, she will deliver and install your portrait(s) in your home. Our clients find that this white glove service is the icing on the cake because they don’t have to worry about hardware or levels. Arrangements for installation can easily be made for clients that live too far away.
