At Beadles Portraits we have identified several significant milestones in a family's story that are worth celebrating with a portrait.
Of course every family is different, but one thing is true for us all: Life is busy and never slows down. It's too easy to miss the occasion and fail to celebrate these special moments, and unfortunately memories fade with time.
For families we've identified these significant chapters in a family's life that are worthy of a portrait. Over time remind each person that they belong:
When the family is complete.
When the kids are mostly elementary aged, younger than 13.
When the kids are middle school aged, 10-15 years old.
When the oldest is a high school senior and getting ready to leave home.
When the first child is engaged to be married; it's the last chance for a family portrait before there are in-laws.
When the next generation comes along - grandchildren!
With individual children we love to capture these significant milestones so that as parents and grandparents we never forget, but also so the children are reminded of how very much they are loved:
18-36 months - they are old enough to look like themselves, but still look so little!
5 years - just as they are beginning their school years.
10 years - their last little girl or boy portrait.
13 years - as they are starting adolescence and beginning to look more grown up.
Senior Portraits - the end of an era and beginning of independence.
College Senior - launching into adulthood and the professional world.
Engagement - the Bride or Bridegroom portrait before they belong to someone else.
Don't forget that when your firstborn is young, you still have the ability as a parent to design how you want to display all of your kids' portraits over the years. For example, Heather has all four of her children at 18 months displayed on a wall at her home, and plans to do the same as all four of their Senior Portraits are created.
Where is your family in the journey through life? Most people understand the value of portraits, but when we miss the moment, despite our best intentions, our legacy has become nothing more than a collection of missed opportunities, memories faded with time. Let us help make sure you record the significant moments in your family's legacy, so that as the years go by your portrait art helps your children and grandchildren remember the stories and faces that when added together create your family’s legacy.
